Did you edit the gtk theme by hand? (I've just tried using the gui murrine configurator, but it doesn't find any murrine themes to configure in ~/.themes, although i can see them there)

Yes damo I edited the theme by hand and all the .png images were re-colored in Gimp, well the ones that I changed. Is that a bad thing?

Edit: Also this theme is based on pixbuf and mist so I am not sure if that makes any difference but thought I would let you know about that.

I don't NEED to change anything now (I had some help with the scrollbar shading in the Waldorf theme smile ) Just curious - I've done a few Openbox themes and was thinking about playing around with a gtk one.

There is a gui murrine configurator which I thought might be useful, but I need to search a bit more to get it working....

Manually editing the config file *is* the easy  way - it gives you precise control over every element of the theme.  (Well, precise control over what the GTK engine will allow you to change; some GTK engines have idiosyncrasies.)

So Testing is based on GTK3? I have not run it yet so did not know that. At the moment my experience with GTK3 themes is only with Gnome-Shell but it was not to hard to mod that theme I guess I could give a GTK3 theme a go. I will need to download and install Testing ISO though as I am currently running Stable with BPO. big_smile

Re: Openbox Theme Pack

Last I heard at least half of the applications in Testing & Unstable have gone to GTK3, so there is considerable interest in matching GTK2/3 themes at the moment.  I have no experience theming in Wheezy, since the only experience I have with Waldorf...didn't end well.  (May give it a shot on my netbook this weekend though.)

I see well thank you for the information and I will see what I can do with GTK3. wink:D

Re: Openbox Theme Pack

@Marc:  If you do get into gtk3 theming, it looks like "the custom" is to define all the colors in gtk.css and import other .css files in which the widgets are actually configured.
