How I got usb headset to work

Not sure if this has been posted already or not..My speakers worked fine, but couldn't get my usb headset to play sound. I played with settings for awhile and did some research. I came to find out I needed to set the headset as the default in alsa. To do this, simply add 'pcm.!default front:Headset' into ~/.asoundrc and reboot. Once I rebooted I immediately noticed sound coming through the headset and voila it works.

Re: How I got usb headset to work

A side note: PulseAudio must be installed for this to work. I could not get it to work without PulseAudio.
