I'm using #! Statler with the default theme. What's a good mouse cursor to use? I'm just installed the crystal mouse cursor themes. The blue one is quite nice. Any other good ones? Maybe a larger one? Didn't really like the chameleon ones.

I've always used dmz-cursor-theme from the Debian repo. I like it on the default Statler theme + Xfce as opposed to the default Xfce black cursor theme << always first thing to go.

Keep clicking reload, the page will finally load. gnome-look has been acting up like that for weeks and weeks...

Also, big-cursor, comixcursors, moblin, oxygen, redglass (part of xcursor-themes, if I'm not mistaken)...

I'm changing cursors with:
sudo update-alternatives --config x-cursor-themefollowed by restarting X (logging off), which is quite a lengthly way of checking out a theme.

Put
Xcursor.size: 32 ! 32, 48 or 64 may also be good valuesinto ~/.Xresources and then run:
$ xrdb ~/.Xresourcesand restart X to get a larger cursor. (Not sure if the "xrdb" step is necessary). Taken from here.

If you use i386 you can have mine?

I'm using the standard sources.list in #! Statler backported, which includes some backported repositories. How come I don't have the backported version?

@smoki: I'm on Stable + backports...don't see anything newer than 0.4.0-1 available. Possible you pulled that from somewhere else?

i386 32-bit. Did you compile it yourself?

Yes compiled in debian way, i took it from testing.
As "backported for me" i mean i took source packages available in testing and make deb package just for me aka "it is not available in real backports".

Downloading directly from SourceForge and trying to compile would probably not work because of dependencies?

sudo apt-get build-dep lxappearanceProviding that you have the source repositories enabled this builds the compile time dependencies for you (dependencies of the 0.4 version though). Try giving it a try, it would probably work.

^ So I run that and then try to compile the new version? What if the new version depends on newer versions of other packages?

You will have to download them manually ...
I wouldn't bother compiling though, since the package already is in the testing repos.
Just go with smokis suggestion or enable the testing repos,do some apt-pinning magic and get the package from the testing repos.
