Are you sure the destination you're dragging the images to is ~/images/wallpapers, and not ~/images/wallpapers/shared (which is a symlink to /usr/share/backgrounds and, as such, is owned by /, not ~)?

If the directory you're dragging *from* is on a ext2/3/4 partition, are you sure you have the right permissions wet for the directory and/or image file?

If the directory you're dragging from is on a FAT32/NTFS partition, maybe something's keeping it from mounting with full read/write permissions.  (I'd bet this is the case. wink)  Could you post your /etc/fstab?

You can't right-click and choose "set as wallpaper". When you can't drag files to another map you need to open that folder / screen as root. Right-click on the wallpaper folder / screen and press "Open as root" Then you can drag your picture in that folder.  "Open as root" is the same as "Open as an admin" smile

It's Super-D in CrunchBang.  You may know the Super key as the Win key.  (That's "Win" as in FTW, not Windows. tongue)

If you want to change to your own wallpaper ( or a image you've downloaded you must put them in the /Home/Image/Wallpaper folder.
