^ what stanie said. And to be even more specific, open ~/.config/openbox/rc.xml (make a copy first):

cd ~/.config/openbox
cp rc.xml rc.xml.bak
geany rc.xml

and find this section


      
        
          true
          Web Browser
        
        x-www-browser

change it to


      
        
          true
          Web Browser
        
        iceweasel

save it, and reconfigure openbox either from the right-click menu, or by this command in a terminal:

openbox --reconfigure

Now super-W will always start iceweasel.

Hello pwl,

your problem seems to be in

There are 3 choices for the alternative x-www-browser (providing /usr/bin/sublime)

instead of (providing /usr/bin/x-www-browser) as you surely know.
Check the symlink target to /usr/bin/x-www-browser by rightclicking on it - it should be /etc/alternatives/x-www-browser and this one should point to your iceweasel => /usr/bin/iceweasel
Any luck or are all these symlinks linked to sublime?
What happens when you click a link in let's say text file or in music app like clementine, rhythmbox... Does it open web browser as it should or sublime?
I would definitely try to run this command in terminal

sudo update-alternatives --install /usr/bin/x-www-browser x-www-browser /usr/bin/iceweasel 70

and then once more

sudo update-alternatives --config x-www-browser

Any change?

BTW you can easily change your keyboard shortcuts in rc.xml (rightclick-settings-openbox-edit rc.xml)
If you want to use super+w for opening iceweasel find the correct line and write /usr/bin/iceweasel instead of x-www-browser.

Hi, so I tried to change system default editor, and change browser too i guess, it was late, and accidentally messed up copying ant pasting (yeaaah i made a mix of editor and browser...). Now i get:

sublime is sublime text 2 editor, and sublime's symlink's now launchung weasel. this i can understand, but what i don't understand is what happened to x-www-browser symlink, and where it is now.
well, super+w combination ain't working now: "now such file or directory" :E

help me out, please?
