A Merry Ubuntu Christmas - Translated

Early support for the Ubuntu Christmas marketing campaign has been fantastic. I've received some good feedback and I've already seen the image being used on numerous sites.

I've also seen the image altered and translated into Spanish. This got me thinking about the importance of translation. It must have been tricky to translate the image using only the gif file as a base to work from. From now on I'm going to supply the native GIMP files for any Ubuntu community artwork that I produce — I don't know why I haven't been doing this already, doh.

You can find the GIMP file here: http://crunchbang.org/misc/ubuntu-christmas-source.tar.gz

Please feel free to use, modify, translate and redistribute.

Thanks to

Some websites [that I'm aware of] that are supporting the campaign:

It's going to be a christmas present to a few people! I really enjoyed popping to Sheffield this week and seeing a mate using Ubuntu - he'd managed to install it by following a link from my blog - hopefully this Christmas Tree idea will get a few more friends following suit (and strangers too :)
